Frequently Asked Questions

It is understandable to have a lot of questions about all parts of dog rescue. Please browse the FAQ's below - but if you can't find the answers you need, don't hesitate to get in touch!

How long is the adoption process?

This can vary a lot! It depends on the applicant and the dog. However, on average, from application to taking your new dog home, it takes an average 2 weeks. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt a dog immediately.

What happens if I want to surrender my dog

Surrendering a dog is a very difficult decision, so please make sure you are positive that this is the correct choice for you. After reviewing your application to surrender, a member of the team will be in touch to talk this through with you. There may be a waiting period, depending on how busy we are. We do ask for a small donation towards the care of your dog. This is dependent on circumstances and can be discussed.

How long will it take my new dog to adjust?

The time it can take a new dog to settle varies a lot. The rule of thumb is 3-3-3. It takes 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to settle and 3 months to feel fully at home. The most important thing to remember is your dog will require a lot of patience. They might not be sociable and affectionate right away. They might hide, have accidents, be especially clumsy, growl and display a number of other undesirable behaviours. This is all totally normal - especially for rescue dogs that have suffered traumas. If you have the patience, you will be rewarded in time.

What is the cost of adoption?

Our adoption fee is £300 per dog. This includes of the following;
Vaccinations
Health check
Microchip implant
Neutering (if able)
Lifetime behaviour support from the charity
